Product Trim Engineer – New Model Launch
Scope: Responsible for leading the design and development of automotive interior products from concept to production; verifying the design to performance specifications; managing product scope changes; collaborate with tooling and manufacturing to meet customer design intent.
Responsibilities: The job duties would include, but not limited to, the following:
- Applying all the elements of the Motus Product Development Process (PDP) for successful achievement of key milestones within the product development and launch process.
- Managing the day-to-day project details, including creating and updating tactical plans (timelines) identifying project tasks, and managing those tasks to successful and timely completion.
- Attaining/maintaining a working knowledge of basic Lean engineering principals and problem-solving tools including benchmarking & reverse engineering, DFMEA, 8D’s, tactical planning, Kepner-Tregoe Problem Resolution, 5-Why process, etc.
- Applying knowledge of manufacturing processes to design development, prototypes & mock-ups, and input into CAD models and drawings.

The role of this position is to manage sales activities or the organization by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Plans, controls and manages sales activities to attain maximum sales volume and develop maximum potential volume from specified customers for the organization’s products and/or services.
- Act as liaison between customer and Akebono; Travel as required to visit customers, parts distribution centers, etc.; On time and accurate preparation of quotes for new items (or major changes); Lead negotiations and communicate cost and timing to customer for service requirements; Issues price change notices in a timely manner; Prepare and give customer presentations.

Friction Test Engineer / Akebono Brake Corporation
The role of this position is to execute requisite brake tests using laboratory equipment and other methods, analyze data, interpret test procedures, write test reports, dynamometer test code, and meet with internal/external customers on various technical issues.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Review project requirements and other supplied information to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies. Creates and maintains DVP&R process, responsible for completing all required testing.
- Sets up and conducts dynamometer, vehicle, and other tests on complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control. Follows daily dynamometer test schedule and is proactive in getting parts ready by working with various departments and customers.
- Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts product to meet specifications.
- Develops new test procedures as needed, write test reports documenting testing results and makes recommendations for changes in product or test method. Is expected to manage test programs independently, meet all deadlines, write test code, create data reduction templates, and train others as needed.

Core Technology Design Engineer / Akebono Brake Corporation
The role of this position involves taking advanced brake products from concept through prototyping and development to the point where the product is ready for a production vehicle application. The advances brake products could be caliper, rotor, a brake set or something that does not currently exist in the market. The design and development can focus on new products as well as improvement/enhancement of existing products.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete concept & detail mechanical or electromechanical design including design for manufacture and assembly
- Develop the technical specification for desired performance of the development and keep updating it as necessary
- Perform and comprehend the necessary calculations required for the development
- Act as the project technical leader to gather and understand all related information for technical advancement
- Organize design review with the manufacturing engineer team as well as project review with the management team to make sure product development completion on time

This position reports to Division Manager of Corporate Administrations. Oversees all accounting and financial reporting functions of 2 main facilities. Responsible for generating daily, weekly, and monthly accounting reports and supervising the accounting staff members. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting Management
- Manages monthly and quarterly closing process including review of journal entries and financial statement preparation.

Design Release / Resident Engineer
A world class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural and construction equipment is looking for a qualified Design Release / Resident Engineer. This position manages assigned engineering programs serving as the main liaison between customer release engineers (or resident engineers (DREs)) and internal engineering program managers. Assists customer in defining requirements, evaluating design alternatives, verify performance, resolving issues and improving processes. This position is a Resident Engineer working on-site at the GM Tech Center in Warren, MI.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Located at customer site, engineer will support GM programs as assigned by GM lead.
- Works with GM and design engineers to investigate package responsible projects.
- Collaborates with customer to create change authorization to implement new or change existing assigned program or products and communicates to appropriate staff to finalize program timing.
- Tracks status of assigned programs via customer database (i.e. Powerway, Covisint, Supply Power). Supports information for completion of APQP (CPQSS, Covisint, Supply Power).

This position will lead all customer specific program management activities from award of business through end of production. Responsible to coordinate Group activities to meet customer timing and project milestones. Manage customer program budget including capital expenditures, D&D, resource allocation, and contribution margin to SG&A. Track program forecast budget vs. actual and make necessary actions to achieve program profitability.
Primary duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a customer specific project business plan that will show all aspects of the project including achieving forecasted budget and meeting Group and customer program launch milestones from award of business to end of life for the program.
- Manage Group program time lines, program objectives and project milestones for assigned customer program from award of business through production launch and end of production including subsequent model year changes.
- Lead and coordinate open issue meetings with customer and relevant Group departments. Communicate meeting results, action items and critical issues. Follow up open issues through conclusion.
