Senior Account Manager

This position is with the leading manufacturer of high-performance headliners, unlit, illuminated and auxiliary coverage sun visors and various interior trim components for the global automotive market. They operate a state-of-the-art manufacturing platform with facilities in North America (Holland), Europe (Germany & France), and Mexico (4 operating entities).



The Sr. Account Manager Interior Trim has the responsibility to:

  • Develop a business strategy to define, validate and improve our existing plans and products
  • Build on existing relationships with impact Tier 1 customers and profitably grow the book of business
  • Generate and present professional quotations and acquire new customers/business
  • Manage customer contracts and requests for engineering changes with no margin erosion
  • Provide input to the product engineering team to ensure that product roadmaps are aligned with identified growth opportunities
  • Act as a partner between sales and other internal departments and actively participate in cross functional projects
  • Reports to Vice President, Commercial Operations



To be considered for this position, the candidate should have the following qualifications, with most in the Automotive sector:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a business (advanced degree including MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of business development, customer partnership with the ability to develop these relationships and acquire profitable business
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels within the organization and with external customers
  • The ability to quickly learn new products and processes
  • Significant interface in prior roles with manufacturing team members

Product Trim Engineer – New Model Launch

Scope: Responsible for leading the design and development of automotive interior products from concept to production; verifying the design to performance specifications; managing product scope changes; collaborate with tooling and manufacturing to meet customer design intent.

Responsibilities: The job duties would include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Applying all the elements of the Motus Product Development Process (PDP) for successful achievement of key milestones within the product development and launch process.
  • Managing the day-to-day project details, including creating and updating tactical plans (timelines) identifying project tasks, and managing those tasks to successful and timely completion.
  • Attaining/maintaining a working knowledge of basic Lean engineering principals and problem-solving tools including benchmarking & reverse engineering, DFMEA, 8D’s, tactical planning, Kepner-Tregoe Problem Resolution, 5-Why process, etc.
  • Applying knowledge of manufacturing processes to design development, prototypes & mock-ups, and input into CAD models and drawings.
  • Developing ED, DV and PV test plans to demonstrate customer performance requirements can be met through design and process controls.
  • Documenting lessons learned.
  • Developing component and sub-assembly GD&T tolerancing and tolerance stack-up studies in support of customer craftsmanship goals.
  • Root-causing and identifying short- and long-term countermeasures for resolution of design, engineering or manufacturing feasibility issues on Motus products.
  • Leading material cost reduction projects including organizing trial runs of new material, disposition dimensional reports, working with designers to update drawings, coordinating validation tests and ultimately implementing changes.
  • Communicating effectively with standard Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Outlook, instant messaging, etc., as well as and more importantly, face-to-face with internal and external customers.

Account Manager / Akebono Brake Corporation

The role of this position is to manage sales activities or the organization by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Plans, controls and manages sales activities to attain maximum sales volume and develop maximum potential volume from specified customers for the organization’s products and/or services.
  • Act as liaison between customer and Akebono; Travel as required to visit customers, parts distribution centers, etc.; On time and accurate preparation of quotes for new items (or major changes); Lead negotiations and communicate cost and timing to customer for service requirements; Issues price change notices in a timely manner; Prepare and give customer presentations.
  • Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, and purchasing to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities; May be required to perform program management duties on an as needed basis within the Sales Department depending on the significance of the issue/request.
  • Performs costing activities for profit/loss evaluation; Summarize and propose recommendations to Management concerning new business opportunities and strategies on new items (or major changes) with Product Development and Plant(s); Monitor, summarize, and distribute customer ratings to Manager such as on-time delivery, past dues, etc.; Develops a method for follow up to ensure project timing is maintained.
  • Solicits and maintains favorable contacts with current customers.
  • Researches and resoles customer problems, recommending modifications to the product line(s) in an effort to expand sales; Handle customer problems related to pricing, engineering changes, shipping, etc.; Resolves any discrepancies to original contracts and/or agreements
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) from a four-year college or university, five or more years related sales experience calling on both vehicle manufacturers or Tier 1 customers, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Brake manufacturing, brake sales, or component sales experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with Japanese transplants (WARP and GTOPS experience is preferred but not required)
Friction Test Engineer / Akebono Brake Corporation

The role of this position is to execute requisite brake tests using laboratory equipment and other methods, analyze data, interpret test procedures, write test reports, dynamometer test code, and meet with internal/external customers on various technical issues.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Review project requirements and other supplied information to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies.  Creates and maintains DVP&R process, responsible for completing all required testing.
  • Sets up and conducts dynamometer, vehicle, and other tests on complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.  Follows daily dynamometer test schedule and is proactive in getting parts ready by working with various departments and customers.
  • Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts product to meet specifications.
  • Develops new test procedures as needed, write test reports documenting testing results and makes recommendations for changes in product or test method.  Is expected to manage test programs independently, meet all deadlines, write test code, create data reduction templates, and train others as needed.
  • Adherence to all Federal, State, and Akebono safety rules and regulations.

Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years hands-on friction material test experience utilizing brake dynamometers and vehicle test experience is preferred.
  • Have strong knowledge relating to brake friction material performance, brake NVH solutions/methodology for most NVH related issues, hands on knowledge in dynamometer laboratory, and ability to perform dynamometer setup and testing on their own.
Core Technology Design Engineer / Akebono Brake Corporation

The role of this position involves taking advanced brake products from concept through prototyping and development to the point where the product is ready for a production vehicle application.  The advances brake products could be caliper, rotor, a brake set or something that does not currently exist in the market.  The design and development can focus on new products as well as improvement/enhancement of existing products.


  • Complete concept & detail mechanical or electromechanical design including design for manufacture and assembly
  • Develop the technical specification for desired performance of the development and keep updating it as necessary
  • Perform and comprehend the necessary calculations required for the development
  • Act as the project technical leader to gather and understand all related information for technical advancement
  • Organize design review with the manufacturing engineer team as well as project review with the management team to make sure product development completion on time
  • Direct CAD designers to complete 3D models and drawings as necessary
  • Check the CAD models and drawings to ensure their integrity; release drawings accordingly to support production cost estimation and prototype quotes
  • Complete the initial concept DFMEA and continually update it throughout the life of the development
  • Lead or support prototype order and procurement
  • Work with the test engineer(s) to create DVP&R, execute the defined test plan and review the test results/reports
  • Develop countermeasures as necessary to meet performance specifications
  • Bookshelf the final design upon the successful development, which includes releasing the final technical specification, related design calculation, and the design manual or guideline

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from a four-year college or university is minimally required.  At least 3 years of automotive related experience or equivalent is a must.
  • Need to show evidence of creative work such as any patent application/award, or experience in inventing new products or processes.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes
  • CAD software knowledge, e.g. Catia, Solidworks, AutoCAD



Sales Manager for Machined Components

Finance and Accounting Manager

This position reports to Division Manager of Corporate Administrations.  Oversees all accounting and financial reporting functions of 2 main facilities.  Responsible for generating daily, weekly, and monthly accounting reports and supervising the accounting staff members.  Responsible for various tax filing to comply with applicable tax regulations for both facilities.  Develops, maintains and implements standard accounting practices, principles and procedures.  Meet tight deadlines and communicates effectively with executive level staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting Management

  • Manages monthly and quarterly closing process including review of journal entries and financial statement preparation.
  • Supervises monthly and quarterly closing process including review of journal entries and financial statement.
  • Support North America financial activities not limited to, but, consolidated financial report preparation.
  • Manages in the semi-annual and annual audit and/or review process by outside accounting firm.
  • Oversees the accurate and timely processing of all accounting transactions not limited to, but, account receivables, account payable, and fixed assets.

Process Improvement Management

  • Leads and manages process improvement initiatives for finance programs and projects.
  • Leads the development of process improvements to ensure accurate and appropriate information, tools, and process frameworks are in place with reflecting requirement to implement life time costing system.
  • Optimizes methods and improve efficiency through the analysis of various accounting processes.
  • Plans, develops, and implements programs to monitor process improvement and good business practices.

Formal Education and Certification

Software Systems Engineer II

A world class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment is looking for an experienced Software Systems Engineer II.  This position will lead assigned programs/projects ensuring the systems engineering team meets project milestones and deadlines.  Gathers system requirements and creates functional specifications for embedded software design and development.  Performs bench level system validation to ensure all requirements have been properly captured and implemented while meeting the customer’s delivery expectations.  Lead validation of continuous improvement software changes.

Primary duties and Responsibilities:

  • Captures customer requirements for specific program by reviewing documentation and asking questions of the customer’s software and/or release team.
  • Analyzes and documents customer and company internal requirements, and generates high level functional specifications for all software created for company products.
  • Creates functional test specifications to document testing performed on company software.
  • Validates all embedded software functions according to functional specifications and customer requirements.

Software Design Engineer II

A world class manufacturer  of instruments for vehicles, agricultural and construction equipment is looking for an experienced Software Design Engineer II.  This position will lead assigned programs/projects ensuring the software engineering team meets project milestones and deadlines.  Designs, develops, tests and documents software code for use in automotive embedded instrument cluster micro controller systems.  Works with other engineering groups to implement customer requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, creates and updates software design documents adhering to established development process to ensure proper and efficient software design.
  • Writes, debugs, and tests software code for automotive embedded software systems.
  • Reads, analyzes and interprets microcontroller manuals to write driver level software to get the microcontroller running.
  • Creates state diagrams, block diagrams and sequence diagrams to illustrate the software structure at higher and lower levels.
  • Prepares software test documents for integration tests and tests software to ensure that it operates as required and integrates into the overall system properly.
  • Analyzes system specifications created by the systems engineering to ensure proper implementation.

Design Release / Resident Engineer

A world class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural and construction equipment is looking for a qualified Design Release / Resident Engineer.  This position manages assigned engineering programs serving as the main liaison between customer release engineers (or resident engineers (DREs)) and internal engineering program managers. Assists customer in defining requirements, evaluating design alternatives, verify performance, resolving issues and improving processes.  This position is a Resident Engineer working on-site at the GM Tech Center in Warren, MI.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Located at customer site, engineer will support GM programs as assigned by GM lead.
  • Works with GM and design engineers to investigate package responsible projects.
  • Collaborates with customer to create change authorization to implement new or change existing assigned program or products and communicates to appropriate staff to finalize program timing.
  • Tracks status of assigned programs via customer database (i.e. Powerway, Covisint, Supply Power).  Supports information for completion of APQP (CPQSS, Covisint, Supply Power).
  • Coordinates and conducts open issue meetings for customers.
  • Relays all program timing requirements as well as all requirements and deliverables to company.
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relationships.
  • Manages and reviews program CAD models for packaging and graphics specifications, and receives customer’s approval.  Responsible to ensure mechanical packaging and specifications are frozen and approved by customer before required date.
  • Obtains customer approval for color & grain specifications.
  • Responsible for getting all approvals required for saleable status (validation approval, performance approvals, appearance approvals).
  • Obtains master parts from company and coordinates the appearance approval process between company and customer.
  • Provides technical support to quality department for trouble shooting warranty return parts.
  • Performs software reflashes when software changes are released.
  • Support simulator/bench and vehicle testing of product as required.
  • Uses vehicle simulation tools to root cause vehicle level software and hardware issues.
  • Reviews and approves internal Temporary Work Notices (TWN) and Design Change Notices (DCN) to resolve technical issues and meet customer timing and specifications.
  • Writes customer’s technical requirements/specifications as required.

Business Platform Manager I – GM

A world class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment.  This position will lead all customer specific program management activities from award of business through end of production.  Responsible to coordinate Group activities to meet customer timing and project milestones.  Manage customer program budget including capital expenditures, D&D, resource allocation, and contribution margin to SG&A.  Track program forecast budget vs. actual and make necessary actions to achieve program profitability.

Primary duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain  a customer specific project business plan that will show all aspects of the project including achieving forecasted budget and meeting Group and customer program launch milestones from award of business to end of life for the program.
  • Manage Group program time lines, program objectives and project milestones for assigned customer program from award of business through production launch and end of production including subsequent model year changes.
  • Lead and coordinate open issue meetings with customer and relevant Group departments.  Communicate meeting results, action items and critical issues.  Follow up open issues through conclusion.
  • Communicate program activities to relevant Group departments.  Provide status updates, timing progress and copies of customer launch documents.
  • Be the key point of contact for customer quality, manufacturing, supply and logistics during the news program development, APQP and launch phases prior to and post volume production.
  • Coordinate and assure submission of all customer required documents at customer determined milestone dates.
  • Participate in the decision process and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Coordinate and assist production facilities prepare for plant audits, open issue meetings, APQP meetings, launch readiness meetings and other customer on-site reviews.

Application Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review customer requirements/specifications and initiate / conduct feasibility studies.
  • Perform engineering calculations for joint sizing and make proposals on the joint type.
  • Validate and approve product performance at each stage of development in accordance with the customer and DL specifications for global applications.
  • Support creation of the NBA product proposal and other documentation.
  • Manage all relevant application engineering tasks/activities in accordance with the customer APQP and DL CAPM deliverables (including pre ‘CO’ through stage ‘C’ and inclusive of stage ‘D’)
  • Prepare the product design package for initial review and drawing creation.
  • Authorize the release of the pre-production parts list and structures on the business system for local customer release launch.
  • Manage and support the creation and update of the DFMEA and support the PFMEA.
  • Lead internal design reviews and the assembly drawing approval for the local customer release launch.  Communicate and coordinate this with other transplant applications.

  • Support the PPAP package preparation with product launch operations through the appropriate Application Liaison Engineers and Product Launch Managers.

Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Implement, track, and follow APQP process. Evaluate supplier PPAP submissions, ensuring requirement compliance and accuracy.  Coordinate activities for PPAP approval with Supplier, cross functional teams, Plants, and Customers.  Perform Quality and Capability Assessments for potential Suppliers, including reporting, follow-up, and closure of audit findings and non-conformances.  Ensure that Supplier’s documentation and processes are compliant with requirements and/or contracts during null, pre-production, production, and service phase (life of product).  Lead cross-functional supplier meetings/reviews as needed to ensure company and customer requirements are met.  Guide suppliers to develop quality strategies to improve Quality System Implementation, utilizing Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving techniques.  Perform Supplier Process Audits, Run at Rate verification, Control Plan Audits, Formal Q Audits, and PFMEA reviews, Special Processes evaluations, and early Production Containment.  Lead and coordinate Supplier Change Request.  Support on Engineering Changes related to suppliers. Willing to travel globally and with short notice.

Job Requirements:

Product Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
